The Goms offers everything a biker's heart desires: beautiful climbs, exciting trails, crisp descents, and all of this on the sunny or shady side of the valley, depending on the weather and temperature. The "Moos" is the perfect starting point. It offers 3 great routes right on the mountain behind the house and many more in the surrounding area.
Over 100km of trails right on the doorstep. The Loipe Goms crosses the property. This means that everyone can set off on a suitable tour and still be back home for lunch. Simply fantastic!
There is a waxing room in the cellar to ensure that the skis always run well. The various sports stores are also happy to help. The nearest one is Elmar's Gade in Geschinen.
Backcountry skiers will also find paradisiacal conditions in the "Moos". The countless peaks and the open larch forests ensure that a beautiful tour can be undertaken in any weather.
Two well-known tours, to the Stockji and to the Brudelhorn (and beyond), can be started right from the door step. But the Goms also offers countless other tours. And if you should ever need a change of scenery, simply hop on the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn and you'll soon find yourself in the Ursern Valley, where more tours await you.
With over 400 marked mountain trails, Goms is a paradise for all hikers and nature lovers. Between 1200 and 3000 meters above sea level, there is a suitable tour for every level. Pass crossings, alpine mountain tours, hiking along rustic mountain villages or would you prefer a long walk with the children? Goms offers something for every taste.
Fairytale forest trails, a winter pass crossing or would you prefer a leisurely hike on the winter hiking trail along the Rhone? With around 79 kilometers of marked winter hiking trails, the high valley of Goms has something for everyone.
Goms is not only a cross-country skiing paradise, but also offers winter hikers a variety of well-maintained trails. You are surrounded by high mountains and enjoy magnificent views from the Furkahorn to the Weisshorn. Each village is well served by the MGBahn and the postal bus, so you can easily return to the starting point.
Those who prefer to take the lift up and ski down can do so either at the two T-bar lifts in Geschinen-Münster or in one of the larger areas Fiesch, Bellwald or Andermatt. In contrast to hiking, cross-country skiing or ski touring, alpine skiing from the Moos involves a certain amount of effort: Ski enthusiasts have to walk to the Geschinen-Münster ski lift (15-20 minutes) or at least to the Geschinen train station (5-10 minutes).
Guests in Goms often build a bobsleigh run right behind the house. But those who want to cover longer distances will find a large selection of toboggan runs (german) throughout the valley. The longest of these is the run from the restaurant Rohnequelle: more than 3km! Even longer - but a little further away - is the classic run from Nätschen to Andermatt. But this piste is also easily accessible by train.
Nufenen - Gotthard - Furka... or would you prefer Grimsel - Susten - Furka? Every cyclist's bucket list can be ticked off from Goms by road bike. If you run out of breath, you can take the PostBus to the top of the pass in comfort... because: From Furka, Grimsel and Nufenen, it's all downhill to the "Moos"! 😀
The almost flat Rottenweg along the young Rhone is ideal for exploring the Goms. Sometimes across wide meadows, sometimes through light forests, the Rottenweg leads from village to village, passing right in front of the property. This leisurely cycle path therefore invites you to get to know the villages of Obergoms and their culinary offerings. Hikers and baby carriages are also often seen on the Rottenweg. A pleasure trail for young and old, big and small.
With its calm waters, Lake Geschinen is the perfect place to try out SUP. Stand up paddles can be hired on site.
Lovers of natural bathing are also well catered for in the Goms high valley. Lake Geschinen is the perfect destination for a warm summer's day. Everyone is guaranteed to cool off in the crystal-clear, cool water.
For those who prefer it a little warmer temperatures, Reckingen has a heated outdoor pool and a paddling pool for the little ones with a mini slide, a diving board, a splash shower as well as a beach volleyball court and table tennis tables.
The protective forest in Goms was awarded the Binding Forest Prize. The vacation apartments in Moos are surrounded by 24,000 m2 of forest like a protective organ. It invites guests at any time of year to indulge in forest bathing, the Japanese Shinrin-Yoku, among its spruce and larch trees. In the tranquillity of nature, next to the forest stream and among the ferns, you can relax and do something for your health.
The Moos is a place where young and old adventurers can let off steam. It offers plenty of space for adventures in nature with the fountain, the forest, the swings and seesaw, a small forest stream, the meadows and the barbecue area.
Goms is one big local history museum. The wonderful old wooden buildings invite you to visit and impressively demonstrate how lovingly the owners take care of their preservation. In addition to the villages themselves, the Goms also offers other cultural and culinary activities, so guests will certainly not be bored.
